Big WIN At Monmouth Carries The Day!
Today I had fsix selections on the Jersey Shore and I scored with two of them. The first victory cam in the Friday opener where I tripled the play on Silver Rising. I thought he was the very definition of leading rider Paco Lopez's typical wins.....a class dropper, at a short price, who would be tough to beat. She was last seen in a $35K sprint but had shown the ability to go two turns in the past. On the drop she looked tons the best. Lopez had her rating to the far turn, asked for some run and then galloped by through the lane....you can even see in the photo below how Lopez is looking for competition inside the furlong marker - he does this SOOOO many times, has to be frustrating to the other riders.
The $3.40 payoff with my bet netted me a nice $25 to start the day! I was third in the second race when Happy Voyage was six wide off the turn on the turf and then second at 8/5 in the third race when Sonofachub was squeezed AND checked at the start, and again down the backstretch. Flying late three wide, but second best. I missed again in the 6th when Chief Scout showed nothing, but the big win of the day came in the 8th. My pick in the fifth race had scratched so when I was making my bets this morning and noted that Big Dealer in the 8th was a 40% Club play and appeared to be the speed of the race I decided to take the money I would have played in the fifth and add it to the 8th pick, so I had tripled the money on Big Dealer. He went right to the front and I could tell as they hit the turn that Paco Lopez was sitting on a ton of horse. As they moved through the turn he was looking around for competition. Very confidently to the wire to score. But check out the price he left the gate at........
YES, that's right, 9/2! Paid over $11 and I cashed out for $85.50 on this one bet alone! I am a winner for the day. I was five-wide in the finale, a turf sprint, at 8/5 but could only get third. For the day I made a handsome profit of over $35!
